Web Usability Designer
At PeaceHealth we carry out our healing mission by promoting personal and community health, relieving pain and suffering, and treating each person in a loving and caring way. PeaceHealth is supported by our System Office in Bellevue, WA and our 5 operating regions in Washington, Oregon and Alaska. There is one position available for a Web Usability Designer, this position can be located in either Eugene, OR, Longview, WA or Bellingham, WA.
PeaceHealth is currently seeking an experienced usability professional to provide leadership and advocacy for user-centered design practices in the development of web sites and applications for use by clinicians, patients, and employees. This position will be instrumental in helping integrate user-centered design methods into the development lifecycle, working in collaboration with developers, end-users, and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the user-centered design process, experience working with interdisciplinary teams, and be passionate about delivering elegant and usable technology solutions.
Qualified candidates will have:
? Bachelor's degree with course work in Information Science, Informatics, or Computer Science required. Masters degree in Information Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or Cognitive Science preferred.
? Three years of experience in information or interaction design, requirements and user scenario development, site navigation and application design, user interface design, and other aspects of user-centered development.
? Experience in gaining active end-user involvement in the specification, design, and implementation phases.
? Familiarity with current usability research, theories and methodologies (especially user-centered design processes).
? Expertise in user-centered design methods, specializing in web applications.
? Usability testing both in the field and lab, with an emphasis on the overall user experience.
