Account Executive

We are seeking an experienced Account Executive for the Mid Market/Large, 51+ employees Group in Orange County.

This position is responsible for new business sales representatives engaged in sales and marketing of Blue Shield Mid and Large Group products and services through Brokers and Consultants.

Products include HMO, PPO, POS, dental, vision and life insurance - fully insured and ASO.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement sales strategies, establish business plans, execute sales and producer development plans and activities to exceed membership and profit goals.

Develop and maintain effective and successful producer relationships and development of prospective customers.

Manage prospect evaluation, underwriting and rate development, proposal development, presentation, sale and implementation of new groups.

Prepare periodic and special reports on sales activities.

When appropriate, works with various internal departments to improve processes, outcomes, customer service, policies and system modifications necessary for assigned group accounts.

Excellent and proven sales skills and results are required.

Demonstrated analytical and math skills required.

Knowledge of producer community, underwriting, network management, medical management and health care market.

Active life license required.

Bachelor's degree and five years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of health care benefit plans, contracts, on-line systems and flow of related information.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.

Complete understanding of concepts, practices and procedures in account management.
