Activity Aide/Assistant
LIFE Pittsburgh is a community-based alternative to nursing home care. We assist older adults in maintaining quality, dignity and autonomy in their lives by supporting the family unit within the context of a holistic and faith-based approach to medical and social services.
LIFE Pittsburgh provides guidance for older adults who wish to remain in their own home, but who have health problems that prohibit their ability to safely do so. Traditional and non-traditional services are combined to support the individual and encourage an independent lifestyle. Services are provided on an individual basis to tailor a flexible, yet comprehensive, medical and supportive plan of care.
Through the LIFE Pittsburgh program, frail and fragile seniors can remain in their own homes and receive a coordinated plan of care that enables them to maintain their independence and enjoy a safe and active life in the community.
Currently we are seeking qualified Activity Aides and Assistants to be responsible for assisting the CTRS and our Participants with therapeutic recreation activities as determined by the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and the Participant's plan of care. The Activty Aide/Assistant will assist Participants to socialize effectively, participate in activities to an optimal level, assist Participants with personal care needs, ambulation and activity preparation.Will lead groups and individual activities such as sports, dramatics, games, arts and crafts to assist Participants to develop interpersonal relationships to socialize effectively and to participate in group activities. Assistant must have 2 years experience in a geriatric setting and should be at ease with being in front of a large group as well as one-on-one interactions. Position offers primarily daylight hours Monday through Friday in the Day Health Center.
