Immediate Opening: Activities Coordinator

Job Type: Full Time

Location: The Towers on Parklane, San Antonio, TX

An exclusive San Antonio active senior living community is seeking an experienced professional with previous experience in large event/convention planning.  This individual works closely with the residents of the community and plans and coordinates resident programs and activities.  Other job functions for this important position include:

* Designate duties to full-time and volunteer assistants that will help implement and coordinate department goals and activities as assigned.
* Determine goals and procedures for the department?s operation.
* Be responsible for a Business Plan, financial statements, and monthly reports as assigned.
* Be responsible for a petty cash account that disburses funds for entertainment, supplies, etc.
* Communicate with all department heads, as well as other employees, to help carry out the Activities Department goals and events.
* Be responsible for writing and editing a weekly newsletter, weekly reminder, and other pertinent circulars distributed to residents and staff.
* Establish a team spirit between residents and employees.
We seek the following qualifications:

* College degree or two-year program in recreation, geriatrics, or related field
* Minimum of two years working full-time with the geriatric population; dealing with deadlines in a fast-paced retirement, healthcare, or related industry.
* Expertise in Windows Environment, Word, Excel, and electronic clipart or other widely used programs.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Ability to interact and build relationships with older adults.
* Strong creativity and organizational skills.
