Job Summary:

The Benefit Consultant is responsible for marketing the Medicaid product to interested eligible candidates in the service area, according to the prescribed rules and regulations of the Medicaid Contract.

 

Essential Functions:

 Market Medicaid products to all interested eligible candidates.  Conducts individual presentations to perspective members. Provides ongoing assistance to Medicaid members, as necessary, answering questions and/or directing inquiries to Customer Service. Continually monitors activities of health industry competitors and provides information to management.

 





Education/Experience: Bachelor?s degree or equivalent level of experience. Sales experience in HMO/Managed Healthcare or Insurance Industry. Appropriate Florida Department of Insurance license ? No violations or disciplinary actions. 2-40 or 2-18. Bilingual is preferred.

 

 Skills and Abilities:

 

Strong, professional verbal communication skills.Interpersonal skills, ability towork well with others. Able to lift and carry forms and event materialsMay require the lifting of boxes of up to 30 lbs. Required to use personal transportation for appointment with prospective members and events.  Computer functional.Comprehensive knowledge of Medicaid regulations and programs Ability to work flexible hours (i.e., events, etc.) Ability to work individually or as part of a team. Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities. Ability to work calm under pressure. May spend up to 90 % of time traveling with exposure to inclement weather and normal traffic hazards.
