Business Analyst I, II or III - 18158

WellPoint is the nation's leading health benefits company serving the needs of approximately 28 million medical members nationwide.



This position reports into the State Sponsored Business--Planning and Implementation team and will perform as  a liaison  with functional buisness owners and SMEs. Individual will be responsible for gathering and documenting business requirements for new business/program implementations, system integration/upgrades and other process improvement projects. Additional responsibilities include development and execution of detailed test plans and test data. Candidate will gather/analyze data, perform root cause and cost benefit analyses on business problems and present solutions.


Essential duites include documentation of business requirements, development and execution of test plans, collaboration with SMEs, resulting in approval from functional business owners. Candidate will also attend project team meetings, facilitate sub-team meetings, partner with project managers and provide critical input to project plans.



BA or BS in Business or Computer Science preferred, 2+ years experience in business or systems analysis in healthcare or related field. Demonstrated  understanding of software development life-cycle and project life-cycle.  Strong PC skills (including MS Office, SQL, Project, Visio), excellent written and oral communication, detail oriented, effective problem-solving skills, ability to deal with ambiguity and learn on the fly in a fast-paced enviornment.
