CANCER REGISTRAR COORDINATOR

Caritas St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, the tertiary academic teaching hospital of Caritas Christi Health Care, the second largest health care system in New England. Caritas St. Elizabeth's possesses vast capabilities in inpatient and outpatient care. In addition, our research laboratories are active centers of investigation in areas such as cardiology, neurology, hematology/oncology and gastroenterology. We are currently seeking a: CANCER REGISTRAR COORDINATOR

 Cancer Registrar Coordinator (part-time) Responsibilities include all phase of the computerized registry, including case finding, accessioning, abstracting and follow-up. The candidate must interact with the medical staff to ensure adequate staging, and prepare various reports, including survival data by site, stage and treatment modality. Assist in the Cancer Care Committee, weekly Cancer Conferences, and is responsible for maintaining all associated documentation to comply with the American College of Surgeons/Commission on Cancer approved program requirements. Qualifications include at least 2 years in a health information setting with coding and/or computerized data base management experience in a clinical environment. Must have good interpersonal skills to interact with physicians, hospital employees, outside organizations as well as patients. CTR preferred/CTR eligible, RHIT, RHIA or RN.
