CHILD NUTRITION DIVISION NUTRITIONIST

$4,303 - $5,230 monthly ($51,638 - $62,766 yearly)

The Contra Costa County Community Services Department, which serves the needs of over 2000 young children and their families in all areas of the County through the Family and Children?s Services programs, is recruiting registered dietitians to fill a vacant Child Nutrition Division Nutritionist position.
The Child Division Nutritionist will:
- Provide a comprehensive nutrition services program to children enrolled in the Community Services Department?s Child Development, Head Start and Pre-School programs.
- Provide education to support the various food services programs.
- Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the nutrition components of the Child Nutrition Food Service Program.
- Coordinate efforts with teachers, parents and food service workers to provide therapeutic diet counseling for children with special diet needs
- Make presentations to instructional staff with regard to menus, cooking projects and related issues.
- Identify the probable relationship of food intake to the number and kind of reported health problems.
MINIMINUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possession of Valid Driver?s License.
- Registration as a dietitian with the American Dietetic Association. Proof of registration as a Dietitian must be submitted with the official application.
- As required by law, all appointees to this classification must successfully pass fingerprint and tuberculosis clearances and a current physical examination.
