CLINICAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST - L&D (#3630) FT-40 0800-1700 (EXEMPT)
WORK DAYS: Monday - Friday
Collaborates in assessing care for difficult and complex obstetrical patients. Participates in evaluating the clinical practices of all Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby nurses. Assists staff in evaluating progress toward expected outcomes following interventions. Assists in identifying the learning needs of Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby nursing units. Collaborates with physicians and colleagues of other disciplines to seek support for change as it relates to clinical practice. Consults on antepartum and postpartum issues with departments throughout the hospital.
The Clinical Development Specialist works under the direction of a Nursing Director as a leader, innovator and change agent in the pursuit of improved nursing practice and quality of patient care. The scope of practice encompasses the use of nursing process in major areas: practice, education, consultation, research and administration.
Special skills, knowledge or abilities:Ability to work and communicate effectively with others.Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet the specific needs of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, and/or geriatric patients.Physical ability to perform the essential functions safely.
Employment Requirements:Master's Degree in Nursing.Four years clinical experience in Labor & Delivery.Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon.Licensure as a Certified Nurse Midwife in the State of Oregon.NRP required.
Preference may be given to candidates possessing certification in Obstetrics.
