Clinical Coordinator - Cardiology

Job Description:The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for analyzing data and coordinating performance improvement activities related to the cardiovascular service line. The Coordinator works closely with employees and physicians to ensure that optimum quality care is delivered to cardiovascular patients. He/she facilitates the development of treatment protocols and process improvements to improve the quality of cardiovascular care and reduce the length of stay. The coordinator assesses the delivery of care and serves as an educator/staff resource in developing the skills of employees assigned to the cardiovascular service line. The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring high quality, cost-effective care of the heart and vascular patient and their families throughout the CVSL continuum. This is to be accomplished through coordination of service line elements into a streamlined customer-focused Heart and Vascular Care Center. Primary areas of responsibility for this service line include but are not limited to the following: -Program/Clinical guidelines and/or pathways development -Strategic Planning -Quality/Case Management -Education (staff, patients/family/community) -Market Share Development/Community Networking -Customer Relations Responsible, as delegated, to evaluate, plan, develop, organize, coordinate and manage short and long-term implementation of the clinical activities of the CVSL.Qualifications:This position requires a State of Georgia RN License; a BSN and three to five years of experience as a manager; staff resource nurse; case manager or quality assurance coordinator specializing in cardiovascular services. The Coordinator must be skilled in patient assessment, data analysis, process improvement and employee education. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills (both oral and written) are required for this position.
