Responsibilities
Coordinates the activities of the technical and professional staff to ensure accuracy and integrity of data in accordance with regulatory standards, and hospital business initiatives. Maintains data quality in accordance with compliance and reporting requirements. CCS required. RHIT/RHIA preferred. 3-5 years Health Information Management experience essential, preferably in an acute care, computerized environment. 2-3 years demonstrated coding experience required. Good interpersonal skills required. Excellent communication and supervisory skills required Demonstrated knowledge of ICD-9-CM, CPT4, HCPCS and applicable DRG grouper coding schemes essential. Understands documentation parameters affecting complete and accurate coding and the impact of documentation on correct reimbursement, compliance and regulatory standards. Experience in working with medical records in an electronic environment preferred.
