Compliance Analyst (Analyst IV)

This is a full time career position located in UCD Health System?s, Compliance Office, in Sacramento, with working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m., Monday ? Friday. This classification is not represented by a union.

 

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Compliance Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for working independently on assigned projects. The incumbent must demonstrate extensive knowledge in coding and billing requirements to effectively perform duties independently that support the Professional Fee Billing Compliance Program, Health System Compliance Program, Research Billing Compliance Program, and HIPPA Privacy and Security activities. Incumbent will be required to maintain assigned projects and other duties while maintaining strict timelines. Incumbent must be able to initiate and perform audits or investigations of various Health System operations relative to documentation, billing process, or other functions relating to proper compliance with governmental regulations, laws and policies.

 

Requirements: Applicants selected for interview will be required to complete coding competency test during the course of the interview. Must have working knowledge and experience in professional/hospital billing and relevant regulations. Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-9 diagnosis, ICD-9 procedures, HCPCS codes level I, II and III with coding experience. One or more of the following are required: 2 years coding experience, Current certification: Certified Coding Specialist- Physician Based (CCS-P), Certified Coding Specialist-Hospital (CCS-H) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), with 2 years coding experience. Must be proficient with medical terminology at the college level with the ability to understand disease process, anatomy and physiology necessary for assigning accurate numeric and alphanumeric and alphanumeric codes. Must have experience with medical auditing and/or quality control. Presentation skills to deliver and organize media methods for education and training to faculty, staff, department and division administrators.
