Responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing the activities of utilization management/utilization review to assure medical necessity of services and care delivery in the appropriate setting as it applies to the clinical care of Health Plan members. Supervises Utilization Review Staff to assure completion and accuracy of daily workload. Interacts with members, providers and vendors on a daily basis. Collaborates with internal and external departments to ensure the consistent delivery of timely, appropriate, high quality healthcare. This position seeks an individual committed to improving the health and well being of the NYP Community Health Plan's membership. BSN Degree, NYS licensed registered Nurse. Candidate must have five- (5) year's of experience in a relevant clinical setting, including two to three (2-3) years direct experience with Manage Care utilization and Quality Improvement. InterQual experience desired. Working knowledge of computers required; ability with MS Office preferred. Excellent interpersonal and organizational, as well as competent written and verbal communication skills are necessities. Second language a plus.
