Credentialing Assistant

We are recruiting an Credentialing Assistant to join our Clinical Operations Department within the Hospital Division.

Summary:
The Credentialing Assistant assists in the functions of the Hospital Division medical staff credentialing process. Supports the Corporate Credentialing Manager and field Medical Staff Coordinators (MSC ). Materials to be kept in the strictest confidence.

Tasks:

Processes Corporate Credentialing Office provided initial, periodic and re-appointment verifications.

Runs Queries from the MSO system to determine needed items of verification for the MSC.

Runs the American Medical Association physician e-profiles for initial appointments. Saves copies of the queries on the hard drive and double checks the existing profiles against the request listing if necessary. Checks document section of MSO to verify that query may be scanned into the system.

Emails copies of AMA Profiles to the MSC and logs off in the application section of MSO.

Creates check request for AMA with a facility-billing breakdown of the queries to keep the AMA account with current funding.

Runs DEA Verifications through the NTIS web site and CertiFACTS for initial appointments, at expiration date if between credential schedule, and for reappointments.

Enters all summary forms received from the facilities after they have been approved by the Governing Board, signed and sent to the Corporate Credentialing Office. Reviews summary forms for completeness and accuracy against the MSO system.

Advises the Credentialing Manager if there is a discrepancy in the dates of duration or there are missing signatures or meeting dates. Advises the MSC upon entry completion.

Enters all required data into MSO credentialing software. Generate a facility profile report for every group of summary forms received.

Assist the MSC with verifications that may be required for internal or JCAHO surveys.

Assist the Corporate Credentialing Manager with creating new facilities in MSO for acquisitions, providing proper checklist items and letter paths for both initial and re-credentialed applications.

Assists Corporate Credentialing Manager with maintaining accounts with NPDB for electronic fund transfer information. Assist with setting up new accounts for new acquisitions and nursing facilities.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must be knowledgeable with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations as well as Governing Board, State and JCAHO standards, Administrative Policy and Procedure manual related to credentialing and Credentialing Software Users Guide.

Qualifications:

Associates Degree in related field, Bachelor's preferred.

Extensive knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word etc. a plus.

Strong organization, interpersonal and communication skills required.
