St. Mary Medical Center has served the diverse health care needs of Long Beach and its surrounding communities since 1923. Founded by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word of Houston, Texas, today's hospital is a direct result of their vision of community service. St. Mary is readily defined as a caring and innovative team of highly-qualified professionals, a staff of over 1,500 employees provide patients with quality services delivered with care and compassion. This hospital is known as a regional teaching hospital for the UCLA School of medicine, the St. Mary Heart Institute, the St. Mary Cancer Care Center, the Breast Center and the Trauma Center. Our campus includes four medical office buildings, a health education center and a 539-bed nonprofit hospital with all private patient rooms. The hospital offers the full-continuum of primary and secondary acute care services, including a trauma center and base station for paramedics, as well as an Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP).

Under the direction of the Vice President for Business Development, the Director develops, implements and directs programs designed to increase market share and enhance the image of the hospital. Duties include: 1) Develop and monitor marketing activities pertaining to product line objectives; 2) Recommend marekting budgets for various product lines and ensure ROI for marketing efforts; 3) Direct creation of collateral materials; 4) Work with advertising agency(s) on creative development of marketing materials; 5) Provide product line information for monthly reports and quarterly scorekeeping meetings; 6) Direct media planning and placement; 7) Develop and manage advertising and promotions; 8) Maintain CHW graphic standards for Hospital; 9) Run public relations activities and and work with call center to coordinate tracking efforts; 10) Be public information officier with media; and, 11) Assist with special projects and physician referral activities.
