Director Network Services and Data Center
The Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary is a specialty hospital providing outstanding patient care for disorders of the eye, ear, nose, throat, head and neck. MEEI is also an international leader in Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology research and a teaching partner of Harvard Medical School. Founded 180 years ago in Boston, today the Infirmary is a global resource for patients and clinicians alike.
The Director, Network Services and Data Center is responsible for managing the data and telecommunications infrastructure supporting an environment that operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. The Director will also be responsible for the Data Center technology, specifically: maintaining the data center environment; coordinating the refresh and upgrade of servers, storage and back-up systems; and developing and implementing a Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plan.
The organization will be implementing an Electronic Medical Record which will require a new infrastructure topology and a familiarity with a diverse set of data and voice network topologies along with related wiring schema. Candidates for this position should have experience designing and implementing high-availability networks for business critical systems. Additional responsibilities include developing and implementing standards, policies, and procedures necessary to ensure the viability and integrity of the entire network.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent technical training, a Masters degree preferred. Successful candidates must have a minimum of 7-10 years management experience with a concentration in the technical disciplines of network engineering, telecommunications, data center and desktop support.
