Field Engineer II

Work as a team member under supervision of more senior Product Engineer.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT

a. Analyze, test, and provide solutions for customer applications and issues related to hardware and software used with Panasonic Computer Solutions Company products
b. Analyze customer requirements to recommend most appropriate Panasonic solution
c. Serve as final escalation point for Service and Hotline in resolving customer problems when escalated to insure timely resolution.
d. Assist in pre and post sales situations with on-site (potentially 50-80%) technical assistance as required.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

a. Provide training on new products to Sales, Service, Configuration Center, resellers, and end users as required.
b. Provide technical assistance to support end user, hotline, field service, and third parties as needed.
c. Manage escalated problems to insure timely resolution.
d. Test third party hardware and software for compatibility as required.
e. Configure, ship, and track pre-production samples as required.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

a. Perform compatibility test and inspection of engineering samples and mass production to assure products meet PCSC standards.
b. Evaluate BIOS and drive updates prior to providing to end users.
c. Evaluate master operating system images and recovery images prior to release to Configuration Center, Service Center, and Hotline.
d. Provide assistance to HQ, customers, and third parties through thorough fact-based analysis

CONFIGURATION CENTER SUPPORT

a. Provide Engineering support for Configuration Center ? including training, documentation, and assistance as needed.

2 Education and Experience

a BS in Electrical Engineering required.
b 4-7 years related business experience required.
c Familiarity with computer hardware, software, troubleshooting, root-cause-analysis, lab equipment, and fact based decisions required.
d Must have a good understanding of Microsoft operation systems such as Windows XP and Windows 2000. Must be able to understanding concept of plug & play devices and hardware Abstraction.
e Background with WLAN a plus.
