Health Informatics Consultant

Position Summary:
The Health Informatics Consultant supports the strategy of partnering with accounts through a consultative process that offers customized and actionable findings and recommendations in an effort to influence better outcomes for members. As a core participant in the consultative process, this position will play a vital role in analyzing and linking compelling financial, actuarial, clinical, care management and wellness information to provide the basis for account recommendations. In addition, the Consultant will be integral in developing the future strategy of Health Informatics based on emerging marketplace demands.
Major Responsibilities:
Actively participate with the consultative teams (along with representatives from Sales, Underwriting, Account Reporting, Clinical Coordination, and Prevention & Wellness) in crafting the account presentations
Develop analysis of accounts' financial and clinical performance relative to key benchmarks and prior period experience
Suggest and lead drill down analyses to validate preliminary findings, provide additional depth to the account narrative, and address anticipated questions
Perform quality check of final reports, exhibits & analyses prior to account presentations
Participate in delivery of Informatics presentations to accounts
Lead broader financial and actuarial benchmarking initiatives
Provide input and support in defining the emerging Informatics strategy
Facilitate enhancements to the Informatics reporting and consultative process
Create technical specifications and definitions of new and modified data elements and reports; Monitor and provide periodic updates to the IT staff on key actuarial factors and trends
Qualifications:
Creative problem solving skills and strategic thinking ' ability to blaze new trails
Outstanding quantitative skills and aptitude
Solid project management skills and flexibility to juggle multiple responsibilities and deadlines
Well-developed written and oral communication skills
Effectiveness and comfort working as a team leader, participant and individual contributor
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with technical and non-technical staff at all levels
Strong PC skills and technical proficiency
Commitment to professional and personal development
Education/Relevant Experience:
BA/BS required
Minimum of 5 years of relevant healthcare experience in an analytical capacity (i.e. actuarial, underwriting, employee benefits consulting, health economics or statistics)
Consulting or client-focused experience a plus
