Help Foster Kids Transition to Independent Living

Group Home Counselors   Eckerd Youth Alternatives, Inc., a leader in therapeutic programs for youth-at-risk, seeks Group Home Counselors to work with youth at our new Transition to Independence Program in St. Petersburg.  The Transition to Independence Program will provide a continuum of care to enable older foster care youth to achieve successful transitions to adulthood. 

 

Counselors will create and sustain positive, therapeutic relationships with group home residents, ensure a safe environment, assist in training daily living skills that will prepare youth for independent living. Additionally, you will also provide opportunities for schooling, recreation, and community involvement.

 

High school diploma or equivalent required, some college education preferred. At least one year experience working with delinquent or dependent youth is required- this experience may include volunteer activity or other.
