Responsibilities
The hospital Ergonomist, in collaboration with the Medical Director of OHS, is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating and monitoring the Hospital?s Ergonomics Program. The Ergonomics Program has as its central purpose the identification of work practices and work station design that pose risk for musculoskeletal injuries, and the modification of such practices and work station design so that the risk of injury is reduced or eliminated. This position has responsibility for all NYPH campuses. Bachelor of Science degree in Safety, Human Factors, Ergonomics or related field. Certification as Safety Professional, Professional Ergonomist, or Industrial Hygienist highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years experience in occupational ergonomics and program management.

Excellent skills in written and verbal communications, training, analysis and computer skills required. Demonstrated leadership in planning, organizing, and delegating required.
