Hyperbaric Technician

Act as the outside attendant and control operator during clinical treatment using monoplace hyperbaric (HBO) chambers and work within the framework of hospital policies and procedures. The Hyperbaric Technician delivers care to patients immediately prior to, during and immediately following the HBO treatment and continually monitors the patient. Additional responsibilities range from maintaining accurate logs and records of chamber operations and incorporating the basic physiological principles/concepts of the HBO treatment into the process. In this role you will also assist in the wound care center with patients as time permits.

High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year of experience in a patient care environment or diving/medical hyperbaric experience is required. Working knowledge of various control systems of the chamber and a current BCLS certification is necessary. Candidates should be a current Registered Respiratory Therapist, Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse or an Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic with certification in good standing. Fluency in English and Spanish is a plus.
