You will be responsible for supervising our staff medical interpreters, scheduling team and additional per diem and contracted staff in our Interpreter Services Department ? coordinating those providing culturally and linguistically appropriate health care services to inpatients and outpatients at Lahey Clinic. Additional responsibilities include planning and documenting professional training/education programs; preparing departmental budgets; hiring personnel and conducting personnel evaluations; and carrying the department?s emergency pager.

You must have a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 5 years? experience in a supervisory or managerial position. 3+ years? experience in oral and written English/other language medical translation ? including 1 year in a health care setting ? and experience in program development and providing and monitoring interpretive services required. Knowledge of governmental and health care policies as pertaining to the provision of culturally and linguistically appropriate interpretive services and excellent communication, PC and data management skills essential.
