About the Opportunity
We currently have FT Days (10-12) hour shifts, 3-4 days a week and you must work every 3rd weekend.

We will also need PRN for days or evenings and we will consider PT for days as well.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set forth in Kindred?s Code of Business Conduct, Kindred policy and procedures, applicable federal and state laws and applicable professional standards.
? Collects specimens and performs a variety of standardized tests as assigned.
? Provides care for the Adult or Geriatric patient, ages 18 and over.
? Obtains blood specimens from patients using established laboratory procedures (i.e., proper patient identification, proper tube selection, etc.).
? Properly processes laboratory requisitions and specimens for routine or special laboratory tests as well as reference laboratory tests.
? Is aware of importance of collecting timed specimens at proper time and attempts to collect these specimens at appropriate times (i.e., GTT?s, Isoenzymes, etc.)
? Promotes good customer service internally and externally with laboratory?s customer drawing.
? Follows established guidelines for laboratory specimens as formulated by Laboratory Director, Laboratory Supervisor, and Laboratory Manager.
? Enforces and follows all laboratory safety rules and reports any possible hazards to the Laboratory Supervisor and/or Laboratory Director.
? Performs other duties within his/her capabilities as requested under direct supervision of Lab Supervisor or Lab Director.
? Performs assigned specialized functions such as, but not limited to, quality assurance, quality control, quality control review, statistical evaluations, and clinical surveys (CAP).


QUALIFICATIONS
? Registered or registry eligible medical technologist CLS (NCA), MT (AMT), or MT (ASCP) or specialty category with appropriate training and education to perform high complexity testing as stipulated by CLIA 88 regulations and /or other governing agencies. MLT (NCA), MLT (AMT) or MLT (ASCP) or appropriate military training as MLT to perform high complexity testing under CLIA 88 regulations.
? Bachelor?s degree in medical technology, biology or related life science preferred, or medical technologist.
? Appropriate work experience may substitute for the degree and registry as determined by management and governing accrediting agencies.
? Must have completed at a minimum accredited military certificate program with at least four years of experience or have graduated with an associate degree in clinical laboratory sciences from an accredited program for medical laboratory technicians and must meet standards set forth by CLIA 88 to perform high complexity testing.
