Nurse Case Manager-Denver

This key position will provide early intervention for injured postal workers as a member of our Injury Compensation, return-to-work and stay-at-work team.  Successful candidates for this position will assist the Postal Service in ensuring that Colorado and Wyoming Postal employees receive prompt appropriate medical care for on the job injuries, timely scheduling of diagnostic tests, and achieve appropriate outcomes.

 

You will have ongoing interaction with the injured worker to explain and monitor medical treatment; communicate with medical providers to monitor recovery progress and to inform providers of the USPS/Federal return-to-work policies. 

You will use your excellent verbal and written skills to provide clinical assessments to USPS injury compensation specialists and communicate with supervisors to ensure a safe return to limited and/or full duty at the earliest possible time.  You will assist in the identification of transitional duties to speed return to work.

 

You will review Injury Compensation files and follow-up with employees who have been returned to modified positions, request medical updates, and at strategic points to adjust assignment duties to safely return the employee to maximum work capacity. On an occasional basis, you will be requested to assist our medical staff with pre-hire medical requirements.

 

You will be working daytime hours in a business-focused office setting at the Colorado/Wyoming Postal District Office in Northeast Denver 40 hours per week. We offer compensation commensurate with education, qualifications and experience. 

This is a contract position with no health or pension benefits.

 

Requirements:

?  RN licenses in Colorado and Wyoming.  You must be licensed in one of the two states currently and have the ability to be licensed in the other.

?  Substantial experience in workers? compensation case management

Federal Workers? Compensation-(FECA) knowledge is a plus

?  Current CPR certification

?  Malpractice/liability insurance

?  Ability to use computer databases and Windows based programs such as  Word and Excel

?  Excellent verbal, organizational and written communication skills

?  CCM/Master?s degree in related field (preferred)
