Nurse Manager

Kindred will be opening a long-term acute care, 50-bed hospital in NW Phoenix early in 2007.

The Nurse Manager has the overall direction and supervision of patient care activities and nursing personnel. Consults with staff, physicians, and Chief Clinical Officer on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Ensures adequate staffing for nursing units. Has the authority and responsibility for implementing the Standards of Nursing Practice related to all nursing care areas and functions. Acts as the administrative representative in the absence of the Chief Clinical Officer. Responsible to assist and ensure follow-through with the development of department goals, objectives, standards of care and performance, policies and procedures. The Nurse Manager participates with leaders from the management, medical staff and clinical areas in planning, promoting and conducting organization wide performance-improvement activities.

Bachelor?s degree required or enrolled in a program to complete required Bachelor?s degree.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for education requirements.
Minimum three years? experience in all aspects of M/S nursing. Minimum two years? supervisory experience preferred.

State license as a Registered Nurse
BLS certification
ACLS certification preferred
