Galaxy Nutritional Foods is currently seeking a Nutritionist with 3 to 5 years experience and a strong interest and knowledge of health, natural or organic packaged foods. The Nutritionist will respond to all consumer email and phone inquiries with a focus on providing detailed information on ingredients, nutrition facts and allergens. This person will also be responsible for product quality testing and tracking as well as consumer education.

 

Nutritionist reports to Vice President of Contract Manufacturing and will work closely with Director of Marketing.

 

Ideal candidate is someone with a passion for consumer relations and ability to educate and encourage consumers to incorporate smarter food choices into their everyday diets. This is a great opportunity for those looking to use their degree in nutrition/health in both a technical and marketing capacity.

 

Responsibilities    

 

? Respond to live consumer phone calls and reply to consumer emails within 24 hours.

?  Manage a consumer response tracking system working closely with Operations and all manufacturing partners.

? Manage Frequently Asked Questions database (FAQs) including creation of new FAQs, ongoing updates and improvements to website to be more user-friendly for consumers.

? Conduct product evaluations and manage an evaluation tracking system working closely with R&D, Operations and all manufacturing partners.

? Provide accurate, complete information in weekly, monthly, annual and ?ad hoc? reports.

? Collaborate with Marketing to develop sales and marketing collateral incorporating nutritional information.

? Develop and manage internal product training program. 

? Research nutrition, health and category trends.  

? Attend marketing, sampling and press events to educate consumers on cheese alternatives and smart food choices.

? Occasional travel, 2 ? 3 weeks total per year

 

 

Skills & Abilities    

 

? Requires strong customer service background with professional phone and email skills, attention to detail and problem solving ability.  

? Works independently and is self-directed with the ability to work in a team environment. 

? Excellent analytical skills and comfortable with numbers.

? Organizes, prioritizes, and coordinates multiple activities and tasks. 

? Remains calm, professional and effective in high-pressure situations. 

? Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access

? Bilingual Spanish language skills a plus

 

Requirements:

 

? Bachelor?s degree in Nutrition. Master?s degree in Nutrition or related field, preferred.

? One (1) year experience providing nutrition assessment, education and counseling. 

? Previous computer experience.
