PROSPECT RESEARCH OFFICER
Caritas St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, the tertiary academic teaching hospital of Caritas Christi Health Care, the second largest health care system in New England. Caritas St. Elizabeth's possesses vast capabilities in inpatient and outpatient care. In addition, our research laboratories are active centers of investigation in areas such as cardiology, neurology, hematology/oncology and gastroenterology. Along with being a vital health care facility serving the entire New England area, we are a major teaching affiliate of the Tufts University School of Medicine, shaping the minds and honing the skills of a future generation of doctors.
We are currently seeking a: Prospect Research Officer
Hrs.: 8:30-5:00
The Research Officer reports directly to the Director of Major and Planned Gifts and is responsible for organizing and performing prospect and donor related research activities. The primary emphasis of the research program will be on strengthening SEMC's major individual, corporate and foundation fundraising efforts by recording, analyzing and disseminating key background and financial information on selected prospects and donors.

and patients as referenced in the Service Excellence Standards."
Initiates and manages the Development Office's research program as a vital component in SEMC's efforts to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospect and donors.
Utilizes in-house, outside, and on-line resources to collect, analyze, interpret and document highly confidential information on individual, corporate and foundation prospects.
Evaluates and presents to development officers confidential information on potential major gift prospects and donors.
Develops a wide range of in-house research resources. Identifies resources and working along and with outside vendors, keeps current research resources. Manages research vendor relationships.
Directly responsible for the input of biographical,, financial (non-gift related, and other significant prospect data into Raiser's Edge [TM] or other development systems.
Oversees the maintenance and integrity of the department's permanent donor and prospect files by ensuring the information on prospects, board members, corporations and foundations are continuously maintained and upgraded with quality information.
Serves as participant in periodic prospect/research review sessions with development staff, hospital administration and high-level volunteers.
Works as necessary to successfully meet established goals and objects.
Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
A bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
1-2 years of development research experience.
Minimum skills/abilities:
Ability to analyze and interpret financial, biographical and demographic information.
Knowledge of the utilization of information systems to support fund raising activities.
