Patient Accounts Supervisor

This is an exempt-level position with a primary focus of working closely with the Patient Accounts Manager in overseeing fast-paced Medicare and Medi-Cal follow-up groups, as well as private pay Collectors.  Partial listing of job duties includes:

?  Assist in all aspects of collections including Medicare and Medi-Cal accounts receivable.

?  Monitor staff productivity and look for ways to constantly improve.

?  Handle written and phone patient complaints.

?  Assist with payer issues.

?  Train staff members as necessary.

?  Produce reports.

?  Assist in performance evaluation process.

 Job Requirements

Must be proficient in Medicare and Medi-Cal claims follow-up and appeals processing with extensive knowledge in proper coding guidelines.  Candidate must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in physician claims reimbursement with at least 2 years of experience in a management or supervisory role.  Candidate must be very familiar with medical collections.  A college degree in a related field is a big plus.  Candidate must possess good computer skills and be especially knowledgeable in Microsoft Word and Excel.  AS/400 computer experience is a plus.  Candidate must have prior experience in training new employees, as well as experience developing the future knowledge, skills, and abilities of all employees.  Candidate should have a big picture perspective of A/R as well as the entire medical billing industry.  Candidate must have outstanding communication skills, be very organized, able to solve problems, and be able to multi-task.
