TeamHealth has an opening in the Billing Center in Plantation, Fl for a Patient Accounts Supervisor.
The Patient Accounts Supervisor is responsible for direct personnel supervision and management of the employees in the Patient Accounts and Credit Balance Departments. The Patient Accounts Supervisor will implement, supervise and facilitate department activities to achieve optimal performance, quality and productivity. Broad areas of responsibility include, but may not be limited to: Personnel Management, Data Quality Management, Productivity Management, and Communications and other activities as assigned.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages and supervises the Patient Accounts and Credit Balance functions of posting payments, reviewing and processing credits, and ensuring depository information is processed correctly. Develops and maintains department policies and procedures.Designs and maintains job descriptions, conducts performance evaluations, recommends salary increases, and initiates appropriate disciplinary action when required.Staffs and maintains adequate levels of personnel in accordance with the staffing plan.Establishes, implements, and maintains quality control procedures designed to monitor the accuracy of data keyed to IDX.Develops and monitors the Patient Accounts employee?s daily production goals.Communicates any and all issues affecting quality/accuracy of accounts Conducts weekly staffing meetings to inform staff of changes in policies and procedures and to provide in-service training.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
BA/BS Degree PreferredThree (3) to Five (5) years of supervisory experience overseeing a Payment Posting Department or Credit Balance Department in the healthcare field-medical billing.Knowledge of payment posting guidelines for Medicare, Medicaid, Managed CareAbility to handle multiple projects and meet deadlinesExcellent analytical skillsAbility to delegate and establish prioritiesExcel a mustIDX a plus
