The Patient Care Technician opening is on our 7 th Floor Telemetry Unit, which is part of our Critical Care Department . The 44-bed unit cares for both medical and surgical telemetry patients and is decentralized from the hospital staffing office. The north tower contains 22 beds in 13 rooms, four of which are private while the south tower contains 22 beds in 14 rooms, of which six are private. In addition, our unit can flex to handle intermediate care (IMC) patients in a 3:1 patient-to-nurse ratio. This unit is part of the Cardiac and Vascular Institutes at Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital that was rated as "superior" in the care of heart attack and coronary bypass graft patients, earning Colorado's only 100 Top Cardiovascular Hospital ratings. Your Position

To fulfill this role as a Patient Care Technician on the 7th Floor Telemetry unit, you'll assist with patient care treatments and procedures including, but not limited to chest tube maintenance and monitoring, various respiratory therapies, catheter maintenance, and patient ADLs.

Our unit offers a stable, supportive environment, and and features a staff-based scheduling committee who works hard at honoring your requests. Our Requirements

* Current Colorado Certified Nurse Assistant licensure or

* EMT certification or
* Completion of 1 st year of Nursing school including medical/surgical clinical training

* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
* Basic clerical skills
* Preferred : 1 year experience at a large community or urban hospital
* Will consider : RN student
