Patient Services Representative

Assists patients with registration, appointment making and billing charges. Works under direct supervision.

 

Qualifications:

? High school graduate minimum; some college preparation preferred

? Two years of experience including one year in a health care organization

? English/Spanish language skills desirable

? Knowledge of operations standards

? Knowledge of administrative policies and procedures

? Knowledge of Microsoft office suite, Medical Mgr. software Type 35 WPM

? Superior knowledge of customer service environment



Description of Responsibilities:

? Assists patients with registration, appointment making and billing charges.

? Provide services for patients of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups

? Performs financial and data entry tasks, with the patient, after their visit with a provider

? Collects payment due from "self-pay" patients or co-payments for insurance accounts, as charged

? Collects on accounts with "Payment Contracts" in process

? Prepares closing reports and secures negotiable, daily.

? Maintains a current file for all input procedures, codes, fees, and relevant insurance billing procedures.
