Physician Assistants

Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center, a multi-facility teaching hospital and integrated health care system servicing approximately 854 beds is  actively recruiting highly motivated, focused, organized, flexible and dedicated Physician Assistants to work in our Ear, Nose and Throat and Orthopedic Departments. 

 

Operative and clinical experience is beneficial for this position.  These departments are patient-focused, offering care to people of all ages in a friendly and productive environment. 

 

The Physician Assistants are expected to be able to work in Adult and Pediatric Care in the Emergency Department, Perioperative care, patient follow-up in adult and pediatric clinics and assists in surgery.

 

The Physician Assistant, under the direction of supervisor provides patient care coverage as mandated by New York State Regulations.  Assists in the screenings and medical work-up and write all necessary orders pertaining to that work-up.  Interact with House Staffs and perform all necessary tasks to insure effective and efficient completion of the work-up for patients as needed.  Will assists in surveys, chart reviews insuring compliance with hospital policies and New York state regulatory guideline for inpatients. 

 

Qualifications:  Bachelors Degree from and accredited American College/University.  Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.  Registered and/or licensed by New York State as a Physician Assistant, and certified by NCCPA. Three (3) years as a Physician Assistant.  A comprehensive understanding of surgical patient management.  Ability to interpret various aspects of monitoring and laboratory data.  Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all equipment and supplies used in patient care, diagnosis, treatment, testing and surgical assisting.
