Plant Operator

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is a world renowned organization dedicated to the progressive control and cure of cancer through programs of patient care, research, and education.

Operates and maintains physical plant machinery and equipment in accordance with required engineering practice.

High School, Vocational Trade School or equivalent education and five years practical experience required, preferably in hospital or research environment. NYC G17 (use of piped 02/N02 in hospital), NYC Refrigeration Operators, NYC G35 (operate air compressors), NYC G48 (use and storage of cryogenic liquid/gases), NYC Standpipe and Sprinkler Certificate and NY State Pesticide Applicator Certificate required, or ability to obtain during initial employment period. Systems experience (Siemens Control Systems, Johnson Control Systems, Powers Control System, Honeywell Control System) is preferred. Ability to use various hand and power tools, rigging equipment, pressure gauge testing devices, manometers, air/water flow meters, pneumatic instrumentation calibration and testing equipment. Mathematical skills and analytical skills required. Ability to interpret and read diagrams, sketches, operating and maintenance manuals and manufacturers specifications and blueprints is required.
