The Center for Ambulatory Surgery, Inc. (CASI), founded in 1976 and located in downtown Washington, DC, was one of the first freestanding surgery centers in the country. CASI is a member of MedStar Health and a subsidiary of the Washington Hospital Center, the largest private hospital in the nation's capital. CASI is a state-of-the-art facility with 5 operating suites and 2 procedure rooms. The medical staff of 125 physicians performs 4,000 surgical procedures annually. Specialties include Gynecology, Gastroenterology, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Podiatry, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology and Pain Management. CASI maintains a full-time staff of board-certified Anesthesiologists.

The President of CASI is the Chief Executive Officer and is an officer of the Board of Directors, as well as an ex-officio member of the Medical Advisory Board of the facility.

Responsibilities: Responsible for financial, administrative, operational and fiscal integrity of CASI. Develops the annual budget and establishes long-range projections and financial plans, accountable for the financial viability and profit margin. Oversees all aspects of operational activities. Responsible for overall direction and management of CASI. Managers and Medical Director report to the President. Monitors compliance with applicable federal and state legislation and regulatory agencies. Develops strategic plan and sets short- and long-term goals. Recruitment and retention of Medical Staff. Internal and external marketing.


Requirements: Management experience on a Department Head level, preferably in an ambulatory healthcare setting. Clinical experience is a plus. Proven track records of excellent communication and relationship building. Business acumen and ability to formulate a strategic plan. Proven track record of excellent communication skills and relationship building. Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
