Project Director for Breast Cancer Survey Research

Staff Research Associate IV/Project Director for longitudinal survey study of low-income, underserved breast cancer patients assessing quality of life, quality of care, and doctor-patient communication. The job is based in the UCLA Department of Family Medicine at 10880 Wilshire Blvd.  The project director (PD) will report directly to the Principal investigator, and direct and participate in all aspects of the research study, including development of study materials, training and supervising research assistants, interviewers, and medical records abstractors, as well as interview administration.  He/she will be responsible for establishing and maintaining both data- and participant tracking databases, and will also assist with data analysis and report preparation. In addition, the PD will prepare and submit IRB applications to the UCLA Human Subjects Protection Committee, and write and submit progress reports to funding agencies. Must be detailed oriented, able to work independently and efficiently, and manage multiple tasks. Strong survey study skills are required and Spanish fluency is desirable.  Ph.D. or Master?s degree in Public Health or related social science and at least 2 years experience in supervising research projects and personnel, or a Bachelor?s degree and 4 years or more of similar experience preferred.
