Health Outcomes Staff Vice President, Business Development & Operations

HealthCore, Inc., a health outcomes and clinical research firm located in Wilmington, DE, is seeking a Health Outcomes Staff Vice President, Business Development & Operations to join our dynamic, rapidly growing company.   Founded in 1996, and now an independently-operating subsidiary of WellPoint, HealthCore provides the health care system and the biopharmaceutical industry with naturalistic "real-life" data on the value of various interventions in diverse patient populations. HealthCore’s projects range from traditional claims-based retrospective analyses to large-scale, prospective studies.  

 

This position is responsible for HealthCore’s business development and project operations for Health Outcomes and Late Phase clinical study activities to include: strategic planning, developing leads, capabilities and proposal defense presentations, leading the proposal preparation process, project pricing, and forecasting. This staff vice president will manage and direct team leads on multiple client projects simultaneously while also being responsible for new business development. The Staff VP, Business Development & Operations will direct project management of HealthCore’s operations by assuring the quality and timeliness of deliverables to our clients as well as provide mentoring to team members.

 

Responsibilities include:

? Plans, directs, and controls the resources and efforts of teams to accomplish the objectives of HealthCore and the Health Outcomes Department.  Obtains resources (people, funding, material, support) to complete projects.  Requires executive level operational oversight.

 

? Identifies and develops new business leads. Represents HealthCore as the main point of client interaction during both the business development and operational stages of a project.

 

?   Has profit & loss responsibility for team(s).

 

? Ensures accuracy and timeliness of output and deliverables for assigned functional areas.

 

? Manages resources effectively and efficiently to support HealthCore’s operational needs and strategic initiatives.

 

? Provides leadership in motivating subordinates to accomplish corporate goals and objectives.

 

? Develops a strong team through mentoring, training and effective organizational development practices.

 

? Utilizes strategic as well as industry standard metrics to measure performance.



Qualifications:This position requires an M.S., Pharm.D.,Ph.D., or M.D. in Business or a Life Sciences field  8+ years experience leading project teams in a Health Outcomes operation and providing direction for professional exempt and non-exempt employees. 5+ years experience managing client interactions Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated success in making timely and effective decisions that support the business Proven proposal development and marketing skills. Highly effective communication skills (oral and written), and well developed interpersonal skills Proven management and leadership skills Demonstrated success in working effectively and collaboratively within a team environment.Ability to work within a dynamic environment (fast growth);
