SUMMARY:

This is a level entry position. Will assist in the management of referrals for Concentra Health Services. Works closely with the Supervisor/Manager of Client Support Services, other team members, Physician(s) representatives, employers and payors to achieve a positive impact on the outcome and quality of care rendered to the injured employee. Maintains referrals within appropriate networks and submits appropriate reports to Outcome Assurance Supervisor/Manager.

JOB DUTIES:

'Reviews initial referral requests.
'Determines appropriate provider network.
'Notifies referring provider and Client Support Services Supervisor/Manager immediately if referral request is not within the appropriate network.
'Obtains referral authorization if appropriate.
'Schedules referral appointment if appropriate.
'Notifies referring providers and patient if appropriate.
'Records all appropriate information per Policy and Procedure Manual.

QUALIFICATIONS:

'Ability to maintain composure under stress.
'Capable of handling heavy workload.
'High school graduate.
'Insurance authorization experience.
'Knowledge of medical terminology.
'Above average organization skills.
'Computer experience.
'Good communication with polished telephone skills.
'Some medical experience preferred, need to be self starter, detail oriented, and organizational skills a must.
