About the Opportunity This important role will plan, direct and provide nutritional care to patients by performing with a high degree of accuracy and skill. Conduct nutrition assessments and assist in planning master menus as well as menus for therapeutic diets. Develop policies and procedures that support the provision of these services. Responsibilities:
Provide diet counseling for all patients who require it; calculate diets for diabetic patients and other therapeutic diets; calculate interval feeding requirements as required by some patients

Review and document medical orders for all patient diets

Document each contact with patient in patient's medical record

Maintain quality control and improve the performance of nutritional services; monitor and evaluate services so that they comply with established standards of regulating agencies

Serve as resource person in nutrition care for medical and nursing care; conduct nutrition education classes for patients, families and staff
