JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Title: Senior Manager of Core Services

 

 

Position Objective:

 

The purpose of this position is to manage the clinical mapping and data management teams, as well as effectively supervise both departmental workflow processes and production output to the highest levels of quality and client satisfaction.

 

Primary Job Functions:

 

Supervise and direct regular clinical mapping and data management department activities performed by the departmental management, team leadership, consultants and other coordinators

?  Evaluate executed and prospective projects and assign staffing as needed

?  Coordinate tasks, workload and priorities with team management and  departmental staff involved in the project

?  Assist staff in activities to ensure timely project completion and client satisfaction 

?  Actively monitor departmental production and core product functionality

?  Identify and promote excellence in all departmental activities including communication, follow up and work product

?  Act as escalation point for employee issue resolution, client communication and internal staffing support needs

?  Track incoming and outgoing project details and client satisfaction

?  Trend and report on key dates and milestones

?  Ensure product set up deliverables and expense requirements specified in the contract are met

?  Coordinate transition activities and facilitate transfer of documentation between initial and ongoing teams

?  Regularly communicate client status to internal management

 

Direct general departmental process flow improvement and work performance indicators

?  Communicate with customers, and other implementation and product managers to identify and prioritize production requirements and process definitions

?  Proactively refine departmental process specifications and associated requirements

?  Document processes prior to release and maintain internal control processes

 

Enhance QC processes, documentation and production requirements

?  Develop robust quality control methods to ensure output is excellent

?  Communicate QC processes to teams 

?  Enforce QC process and requirements with all staff

?  QC/test processes as applicable prior to release to ensure accuracy

?  Monitor error rates and resolve causes

 

Support product excellence and improvement

?  Collaborate with staff to report core product software defects and/or enhancements identified through daily use, QC and training

?  Act as staff escalation point for unresolved core product issues

?  Assist with software testing releases as needed. 

 

Support working environment and departmental culture that supports both employee and team success through education, growth and development

?  Identify employee training needs and performance improvement opportunities 

?  Initiate employee training opportunities and institute goals and measurements of success. 

?  Conduct employee coaching and counseling as indicated with support of Human resources. 

?  Support methods to reward exemplary performance

?  Increase employee morale and team effectiveness

 

Support financial goals of company

?  Ensure data management billing is correct and timely

?  Develop departmental budget in alignment with company plan

?  Manage departmental expenses within budget

 

Minimum Knowledge and Qualifications:

 

Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of middle management experience (including healthcare, insurance and/or healthcare software) in a small to midsize company required

 

 Technical Knowledge:

 

◘ Microsoft Applications ( Required at Intermediate/Advanced level:  Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access Outlook)  (Beneficial: Visio, Project)

 

All of the following would be helpful

 

◘ Understanding of relational database concepts

◘ Win 95/98/2000, NT and XP

◘ Healthcare EDI (Data mapping and analysis)

◘ Remote systems (WEBEX or Terminal Services).

◘ Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, IP Addressing, LAN/WAN, Telnet, Modems,)

 

The following would be highly desired

◘ Thorough working knowledge of healthcare and revenue cycle management

◘ Experience with Web-based software products and Hospital Charge Description Master data elements
