Sr Clinical Manager Surgery

Overview : Plans and provides managerial and/or clinical support to patients, staff and nursing director within the surgery department. Supervises employees and participates in selection, orientation, counseling, evaluation and staff scheduling. Provides and/or facilitates patient centered nursing care for a defined patient population and serves as resource to other employees. Demonstrates effective communication skills, problem solving, and conflict resolution in the management of the assigned department, keeping the appropriate people informed.Serves as a resource person to patients, families, physicians and staff in interpreting department/hospital/system policy, facilitating medical and nursing care, and utilizing appropriate resources.

Qualifications :

Requires a registered nurse with a current AZ license. BSN or health care related Bachelor's degree is highly preferred. Demonstrated leadership ability and at least five years of recent Operating Room experience is required. The ability to build and maintain effective communication and working relationships with staff, physicians, patients and their families is required. Preference will be given to candidates with previous management experience.
