Quintiles Laboratories is a global Central Laboratory committed to providing fully integrated clinical laboratory services which support all phases of both global and regional clinical trials, while retaining a strong emphasis on patient care. When working with
Quintiles Laboratories, sponsors get standardized implementation, analytical testing, and database development and transfer. We have a rewarding opportunity in our Atlanta facility for a Sr./Director of Laboratory.

The Director is responsible for the technical oversight of the North America laboratory working under broad guidelines, establishes and evaluates new laboratory methodologies and directs staff on the implementation of such methodologies. Directs the research and development leading to new or improved products and processes. The
Director of the Laboratory represents and interacts with other laboratories for the development of joint proposals and consistency in results. Provides technical leadership in the accreditation and licensure of laboratory testing and maintains licensure and accredidation in accordance with College of American Pathologists (CAP), state and federal regulations. Participates in short and long term strategy development for the lab.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- M.D. and/or PhD in clinical Pathology or related field a must.
- 10 years clinical laboratory management experience, or other comparable combination of education, training and experience.
- Must be qualified under CAP/CLIA as Laboratory Director. New York State Certificate of Qualification a plus.
- Experience in clinical trials and/or global environment preferred.
- Broad background in laboratory medicine with board certification in a subspeciality area a plus.
- Must have experience directing a clinical/technical/medical staff in an environment with
aggressive time constraints and benchmarks, being sensitive to local social/cultural issues impacting work processes in a large multinational setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
