Surgical Tech-CVOR

Overview : Current 1st SCRUB EXPERIENCE WITH OPEN HEARTS NEEDED. Performs perioperative procedures in the CVOR, such as selection and placement of appropriate surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment; to scrub and provide instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies during Open Heart procedures. This position demonstrates competence in the care/treatment of all ranges of patient age and acuity. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Banner Health Values and Service Standards. The licensed personnel provide direct supervision, but the position may also receive direction from the Director, the Assistant Directors, and the Charge Nurses. This position requires flexibility and adaptability. There may be occasional floating to other Interventional areas, as well as some "off-hours" stand by call. When on-call it is expected that the staff member be able to respond and be in the building, ready to work, within 30 minutes.

Qualifications :

Ability to speak clearly, read and write English. Completion of a Surgical Technician program or equivalent experience. MUST HAVE OPEN HEART SURGICAL EXPERIENCE. Ability to pass the PBDS for ST. Ability to work rapidly in a team setting. Ability to work under physical and mental stress for extended periods of time. Able to lift up to 50 pounds, move heavy equipment, and stand for extended period of time. Effective and positive human relations skills. The ability to learn and follow established policies and procedures.
