Position Summary
Daily operation of the Arkos Risk Management program (retro-DUR), coordinate and completes Drug Regimen Reviews and Clinical Interventions for Workers? Compensation claimants/carriers; coordinates provision of drug information for clinical support of clients, conducts and composes CE activities, and supervises externship experience at this specialty PBM site for Doctor of Pharmacy students.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1.Works with VP of Clinical performing retrospective drug utilization reviews of high-risk individual patient profiles utilizing the Arkos clinical software program. Recommends individual therapeutic interventions in the form of physician letters/communications based upon the retro-DUR process.
2. Works with VP of Clinical identifying high-risk patients which may be candidates for more specific and detailed case management follow up and may participate in case management follow-up in conjunction with the client.
3. Works with VP of Clinical and VP of Sales to participate as a corporate clinical representative to assigned carrier clients to review drug trends, Arkos clinical interventions, formulary and benefit design issues, and assess the clinical needs of the client as it relates to PMSI.
4. Assist in the clinical research and writing of clinical articles that may be used as part of clinical newsletters, annual drug trend reports, and other communications of a clinical nature. Compose continuing education activities for web-based and CD-based applications; provide ?live? continuing education activities for nurse case managers/adjusters.
5. Works with VP of Clinical to participate in PMSI related research and analysis related to drug utilization trends within our patient population.
6. Works with VP of Clinical to conduct detailed drug utilization reviews at the request of clients or as part of PMSI sponsored clinical case management. Execute all drug regimen reviews requested by carriers in a timely and professional fashion. Present the written material of the review at the professional level as well as a consumer-friendly level.
7.Works with VP of Clinical to provide accurate, timely response to drug information inquiries by health care providers, insurance carriers, and claimants.
8. Works with the VP of Clinical assisting in the supervision of a clinical pharmacy resident and/or externship for pharmacy students.
9. Provide direction and assistance for the personnel assigned. Position may require up to 10% travel per year.


Educational Details
?Education/Learning Experience
Required: BS Pharmacy from an accredited United States College of Pharmacy
Desired: Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred, and Drug Information Specialty Residency or Pharmacy Practice Residency with commensurate drug information experience.
?Work Experience
Required: Minimum of three years clinical experience with progressive responsibilities of implementing drug regimen reviews and therapeutic interventions.
?Skills/Knowledge
Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with emphasis on professional level writing skills. Demonstrated problem solving ability. Proficiency in contemporary computer software (i.e. database searching, word processing, spreadsheet manipulation, presentation software, and internet search).
?Licenses/Certifications
Required: Florida licensed pharmacist in good standing.
