Director, Pharmacy Operations

Sun Health, a leader in providing health care services in the northwest valley just minutes from Phoenix, Arizona has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Director. Our service areas include Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise, El Mirage and Avondale. In this position you will be responsible for two busy acute care hospitals (approximately 750 beds) located in Sun City and Sun City West. The director reports to two Vice Presidents and facilitates the strategic, operational planning and implementation of Sun Health Pharmacy Services. This individual is also responsible for recruitment strategy, training and developing staff, creating and maintaining the annual operations budget, enhancing and maintaining the computer and inventory process, and managing department compliance of JCAHO, Medicare and other licensing or accreditation agencies.

 

This position requires a minimum of four years experience as a director in an acute care hospital environment. Experience managing multiple hospitals is required. A Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD and current licensure in the state of Arizona or eligible as well as three years experience as a hospital pharmacist is required. Must have experience with implementing and maintaining pharmacy information systems. Experience developing and maintaining operations and capital budgets is required. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with employees, medical staff, nursing staff and hospital management staff.
