Director of Clinical Services

 

The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for the strategic direction of the clinical services division within Highmark?s Pharmacy Affairs department and is responsible for management of the division?s financial and clinical goals.  This individual oversees a clinical pharmacy team, a clinical operations team, and a manufacturer relations team, providing strategic direction for formulary management, rebate contracting, utilization management, and all clinical programs.  Management of all clinical regulatory compliance activities for the department also falls under the direction of this position.  Must also be a liaison to other departments for strategic planning and coordination of activities, such as, benefit design development, disease management programs, and medical policy and clinical guideline development.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

?  A Bachelors degree in Pharmacy

?  Five to Seven years of experience in Manage Care with clinical management experience

?  To effectively fulfill the accountabilities of this position, the candidate must possess a strong clinical pharmacy background with an emphasis on drug use review activities. 

?  A comprehensive understanding of managed care principles and practices, and project management experience is essential. 

?  Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as, proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database applications. 

?  The candidate must be a proven leader with high ethical standards. 

?  A Doctorate in Pharmacy or Medical Doctorate preferred.
