EMC Server Storage Position

Our client in Colorado has the following position.  This will be a 12 month contract (or less) to permanent position.Server Storage and Backup Administrator

 

Skills needed EMC Server Storage Administration skills.  SAP would be a big plus.

 

Responsibilities:

? Defining and developing SAP server storage and backup standards, server installation and upgrade procedures, and checklist. Determine Storage and Backup needs and solution for Enterprise projects

? Work with change management team to define change management and control procedures for multiple environments. Understanding and improving current backup / recovery procedures. Ensure adherence of standards.

? Collaborate with business needs of internal customers for performance, workflow, business processes, and interfaces into/out of external systems.

? Manage server operations, database recovery and operations log, monitor server performance and pro-active monitoring.

? Maintain multiple servers in SAP environment. Plan for a disaster recovery procedure incase a server goes down. Perform contingency planning activities and testing.

? Technical troubleshooting and analysis, research on software patches, impact analysis. Work on multiple OS and SAP releases and dependent database version.

? Performance management and tuning of application, database management. Perform database backups, integrity check, load monitoring.

? Understand the dependencies involved in a multiple integrated SAP system.

? Collaborate with other technical resources (Hardware, OS, development, functional etc) for support, production issues, and problem resolution.

? Perform server Administration activities and troubleshoot / resolve problems reported by user teams. Ability to research and find solutions.

 

Requirements:

? 6+ years IT experience in similar role including 2+ years with SAP server storage backup, system administration and  production support experience.

? Experience HP, MS Windows Server 64 bit, SQL Server 2005, Oracle 9i environment with UNIX. System Administration, OS, Server or Technology certification. Programming skills with OS languages.

? Skills for troubleshooting, support and tuning. Cross-functional knowledge of from an ERP architecture, database, server, and operating systems perspective.

? Experience of SAP server administration with ECC 5.0, Enterprise portal, SCM, mySAP, SAP Solution Manager, ESS, SEC, BCS and BW. Experience in maintaining of file systems, disk partitioning, mounts, quotas, and data security

? Prior experience to include software and OS installation, support activities, applying patches, defining system installation and sizing plan a plus. Well versed with the SAP technologies and technology roadmap a plus.

? Excellent communication, interpersonal and documentation skills. Ability to work and perform under strict constraints.

? Bachelors degree in Computer Science / Information Systems
