Health Data Analyst

The successful candidate will ensure that MedImpact provides the highest quality and accessibility to drug therapy to members and providers; and in this process, to effectively manage the quality and cost-effectiveness of drug and disease management therapy. This position will contribute to the design and development of health outcomes research proposals, reports, and manuscripts. Works under limited supervision. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. May lead projects and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Define methodology and analytic approach as required for each specific study design. This includes: Identifying and defining appropriate statistical techniques used for analysis; Processing data including data query, manipulation, and preparation for analysis; Perform statistical analysis.
-Integrate pharmacy, medical, laboratory, and other data sets types from individual claim-level data sets to patient-level data sets for analyses.
-Construct summary tables and graphical output of results for incorporation in final reports and manuscripts for publication.
-Prepare concise summary statements and interpretation of research findings for inclusion in final reports and manuscripts for publication.
-Effectively communicate (written and oral) technical and statistical findings in with fellow team researchers from initial development of study proposal to preparation of final report.
-Meet predetermined project deadlines and manages work on multiple research projects.
-Demonstrate ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, Interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with corporate policies, goals and objectives, accept constructive criticism, establish goals and objectives, and exhibit initiative and commitment. Demonstrate ability to meet or exceed the competencies as listed on the attached sheet. Other responsibilities as assigned based needs.
Experience: 2 years of professional experience in areas of biostatistics or health data analysis or equivalent experience in statistics with pharmaceutical or public health background.

Education: Master's level experience with strong quantitative skills in a health-related discipline.

Special Skills and Certifications: Excellent written and oral communication skills, including good presentation skills. Knowledge of research methods and research paper requirements. Knowledge of statistical analysis, design and interpretation. Extensive experience using Microsoft Access, Excel, SAS (intermediate to advanced level), and writing SQL. Previous experience working with pharmacy claims data or similar data sets are strongly desired.
