INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PHARMACIST

Responsibilities :

In collaboration with the leadership and staff of UMMC Departments of Pharmacy and Information Technology (IT), the IT Pharmacist is developing and overseeing technologically-based systems in the department including all of the development and coordination of medication use policy activities related to the CPOE system within UMMC. On-call may be required as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science - pharmacology degree or Doctor of Pharmacy or Master of Science or PhD degree from a college or university accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy is required. 

 -Licensure by the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy is required

Minimum of two years experience in drug policy analysis and drug formulary management

-Strong analytical skills in gathering information from users, defining work problems and designing a system of procedures to resolve problems

-Understands changing scientific and biomedical evidence, a dynamic medication distribution system (being altered to maximize safety and efficiency using various technology and human resources), and maturing technology (of the CPOE system itself)

-Skills in prioritization, problem solving, organization, decision-making, time management, and planning
