Duties include:
* Interpret physicians prescriptions and dispense medications within regulatory guidelines for a mail order or online pharmacy.
* Responsible for filling a large volume of prescriptions while maintaining high quality control standards.
* Contact physicians via telephone or fax for clarification of prescriptions
* Ensure all prescriptions are dispensed as intended by the physician.
* Monitor patient?s prescribed medication therapy for safety and efficacy to ensure the appropriate use of medications
* Limited contact with patients regarding use of medications and potential drug interactions
* Help achieve desired therapeutic outcomes and monitor for adverse effects.
* Communicate in a context that is appropriate to the perspective of various individuals and groups
* Supervise several pharmacy technicians and review accuracy of prescription data entry, order filling and shipping.
* Ensure all prescriptions are dispensed as intended by the physician.
* Answer drug information requests from other healthcare professionals
* Address patient concerns about medications
* Provide patient education for proper medication use, patient compliance, self-administration and storage of medications
* Comply with federal and state regulations governing all aspects of the practice of pharmacy
* Clarification of incomplete or incorrect drug orders after dispensing or administration
* Work with pharmacy technicians to process ITRs, work CSS mailbox, and imaging queues
* Answer phone inquires in a timely and accurate manner
* Provide patient education for proper medication use, patient compliance, self-administration and storage or medications.

Qualifications:
Current South Dakota Pharmacist license
Experience in clinical pharmacy work within the pharmacist profession is preferred
Ability to prioritize and multi task
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
