Nuclear Medicine Technologist

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in the Knoxville area, you will prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients and monitor the characteristics and functions of tissues and organs. After explaining testing procedures to patients, you will prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, help position patients and operate the gamma scintillation camera. Some stress testing may be conducted. Maintenance of patient logs and reports.

ARRT and/or NMTCB certification. Two years experience as a nuclear medicine technologist in a hospital or clinic setting preferred. Current CPR/first aid certification desirable.

Excellent communication, organization, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good patient skills (i.e., ability to start IV catheters, communication skills to explain to patient exams and put patients at ease). Ability to successfully operate scintillation detection equipment. Thorough knowledge of Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or state regulations for safe handling and administration of radioisotopes. Ability to practice ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) requirements for exposure to radioactivity. Good computer skills (i.e., word processing, spreadsheet, etc).
